“Carol I” National Defence University cordially invites you to participate in the 21th edition of the international scientific conference STRATEGIES XXI – Strategic Changes in Security and International Relations, to be held in Bucharest on the 15th and 16th of April, 2026. The conference will bring together researchers, decision makers and representatives of the defence industry and of the military information field to disseminate their expertise and gain new insights into the transformations of today’s operational environment.
This year our Conference provides – as its organizing committee has stated – a forum for discussion on topics related to the security and international relations, military phenomena and related subject matters.
Taking into consideration that only a comprehensive, international scientific effort will not prevent a conflict, but without it we cannot find proper solutions, the mission of the International Conferences Strategies XXI is to facilitate communication between the international multidisciplinary teams. The main areas of interest proposed for the submission of the papers cover the following sections: Theoretical Aspects of Security International Relations and International Law/ Crisis Management and Conflict Prevention at the beginning of the XXIst Century/ Geopolitics, Geostrategy and Military History/ National, European and Euro-Atlantic Security, NATO and UE Policies and Strategies/ Resource Management, Education and Resilience in the Military Organization/ Strategic, Public, and Intercultural Communication/ Information Systems, Cyber Defense, and Artificial Intelligence/ .Challenges and Trends in Intelligence Activity.
The Conference will run over two days and it will be held in a hybrid manner, face-to-face and online, with the support of the Advanced Distributed Learning Department, in participation of the Faculty of Security and Defence and The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School. Virtual connection will be available on ILIAS platform.

The conference papers will be peer-reviewed by an International Scientific Committee while the Conference Proceedings will be indexed in ProQuest, CEEOL and EBSCO databases.
